Digital Painting
October 31, 2009
So I finally got the inspiration needed to finally do a digital painting. I havent done a proper digital painting in ages (the last one I posted anywhere was back in Feb 2008). I generally dont bother much with digital painting because I have this feeling that in our generation, the world is over-populated with digital painters, or at least trying to be a digital painter. So I tend to focus my attention on getting better at other aspects of art, since the world is already so full of really really impressive digital painters. I know this is a bad way of thinking, but its just how I see things.
At least I tried it again, right?

nice! i must agree with you on that. there are so many digital painters, but painting your sketches really gives them life AND expands your understanding of color.
so… i better do a painting myself.

that’s like saying there’s too many traditional painters, or drawers, or anything for that matter. Do what makes you happy, for yourself and maybe throw that other way of thinking out the door.
Onto your painting itself, the balance of him is making me uncomfortable. It’s obviously exxagerated, but it’s uneasy.
Good technique though

Oh I know man, Im not proud of the way I think about the medium. I love the stuff, and really enjoy doing it when I get around to it, it just happens that I always wanna practice other stuff because of it. Im trying to get passed it haha.
Thanks for the point on the drawing man.
